Nothing you browse leaves your browser. Vinimal is made by Fishball Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (“we”). This page covers the Vinimal Chrome extension and this website.
What the extension reads
To do its job, Vinimal runs on every page you open, inside your browser:
- The page itself, to find the links and buttons a hint can click and the part of the page a key scrolls. It reads nothing more than that, and never stores or sends any of it.
- The keys you press, to tell its own keys from yours. Every other key, and every key you type in a text field, goes to the page untouched. It never records what you type.
- The address of each tab, to show whether Vinimal is on for that tab’s site, and the frames in a page, so hints reach into them.
What the extension keeps
- The sites you have disabled, and its one setting (whether hints outline what they click), in Chrome’s sync storage. Each disabled site is kept as its hostname and when you disabled it. If you have Chrome sync turned on, Google syncs them between your browsers under Google’s Privacy Policy.
- When your trial started, and your licence key, in Chrome’s local storage, on this browser only.
- Which hint labels a tab is showing, in memory only, until the hints go away.
Removing Vinimal from Chrome deletes everything it kept on your computer.
What the extension sends
When you add a licence key, and then once a day, Vinimal sends the key to Polar, our seller, to check that it is still valid. Polar sees the request’s IP address, as any website does. Nothing else is sent: no addresses, no browsing history, no keystrokes, no analytics, no crash reports.
Getting a licence key
Polar Software, Inc. sells Vinimal’s licence keys as our merchant of record, including the ones that cost nothing. At checkout it collects your email address and billing address (for a free key, only your country), your IP address to work out any tax that applies, and, if you pay, your card details through its payment processor, Stripe. We can see your email address, your name if you give it, and your purchase, so we can help you with it. See Polar’s Privacy Policy.
The checkout has a box, unticked, to hear from us now and then about Fishball’s apps. We email you about them only if you tick it, and every email lets you unsubscribe.
This website
This website has no analytics and sets no cookies. Cloudflare hosts it and processes your IP address to serve each request, under Cloudflare’s Privacy Policy. The keys you press here stay on the page: it answers Vinimal’s keys so you can try them, and sends nothing.
How we use it
We use this information only to run Vinimal and to sell and support your licence key. We never sell it, never use it for advertising, and never pass it to anyone except the providers named above. Vinimal’s use of information from Chrome follows the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
